Presenter: Jon Lau

Vice President and Chief Technology Officer

Jon Lau is the Chief Technology Officer at UMBC Training Centers. In this role, he is responsible for all Technical Training Programs (IT, Computer Science, and Engineering). Prior to working at UMBC, Mr. Lau spent 17 years in IT consulting (for companies such as SRA International, Sybase, and Interwoven), developing and managing critical information systems for Fortune 500 and Government clients. He holds a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Over the past five years, his research and educational focus has been on Cloud Computing, Big Data, and DevOps.
