UMBC Training Centers has received grant funding from the MD Dept of Labor to train (1) personnel in junior or mid-level cybersecurity roles with 2 - 6 years of experience and (2) displaced federal workers who were previously employed in cyber or cyber-adjacent roles. We are looking to identify and train twenty incumbent employees starting on June 8th, 2026 for our daytime program and June 16th for our evening program.
This program is designed to upskill incumbent employees in both AI and cybersecurity skills, with a capstone CompTIA SecurityX exam preparation course.

Where: All training will be conducted in live online sessions. Please confirm that you can attend all training courses. If you cannot attend all courses (and at least 90% of all class dates), we cannot accept you into the program.
When: Daytime Cohort Schedule (courses run Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm ET)
When: Evening Cohort Schedule (courses run Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4:00pm – 8:00pm ET for AI workshops & 4:30pm - 8:00pm for the final two courses)
Foundations of Modern AI + Security & Privacy in AI - Foundations of Modern AI introduces essential AI concepts, generative AI, LLMs, copilots, agentic AI, cloud tools, responsible AI practices, and real-world applications. Security & Privacy in AI covers AI risk, NIST AI RMF, privacy considerations, LLM vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies for secure AI implementation.
AI-Enhanced Network and Packet Analysis – This cyber-intensive week will familiarize students with network fundamentals, packet behavior, and defensive traffic analysis.
CompTIA SecurityX exam preparation – An advanced, hands-on cybersecurity course focused on enterprise security architecture, incident response, automation, cloud/on-prem security, cryptography, and threat analysis. Supports exam preparation and real-world defense skills.
